Stephen William Brink, age 42, of Chaska, died at home on October 19, 2012. Stephen was born February 6, 1970, in St. Cloud, MN to Lyman and Patricia (Ericson) Brink. He was one of three sons. Stephen was a graduate of Bemidji High School in 1988 and attended the US Military Academy at West Point and graduated from Carlson School of Management with a B.A. and an M.B.A. Steve was a one of a kind. A generous man who had a passion for life, family and friends. Steve cherished his many friends and kept them for life. His two children, Josie and Alex, were the greatest loves of his life, and he cherished his role as their father. His love and respect for his parents, Pat and Lyman Brink, and his two brothers, Andy and Bob Brink was unmatched, with no set of brothers ever being closer. Family times spent boating, fishing and hunting on Lake of the Woods and Canada and trips to Mexico were highlights in Steve’s life. Steve had many friends and kept them for life.

Steve was a busy man with down time being a foreign concept. Besides running his own consulting company and being a successful broker and financial analyst, Steve loved boats and fishing, guns and hunting, playing hockey and watching Hockey Night in Canada. Steve coached PeeWee hockey in Chaska for two years. A man of great determination, he successfully completed the Ironman Triathalon held in Florida in November 2010.

Steve had a positive, joyful spirit and will be remembered for his sense of humor, being a great story teller and teacher to his children and nephews, Bobby, Joseph, Henri, Noah and Logan, and fervently singing his favorite song, O Canada, the Canadian National Anthem, to his children. Steve’s kindness, unending generosity, courage, strength and determination will live on in all who knew him.

Preceding him in death were his cousin, Erika Herren Anderson, grandparents, Forrest Ericson and Dr. Adlai and Marge Brink. Survivors include his children, Josie and Alex of Chaska, parents, Lyman and Patricia Brink of Bemidji, brothers, Andy and Holly Brink of Chaska, Bob and Nikki Brink of Bemidji, grandmother, Marlys Ericson of Bemidji and aunts and uncles, Pam and Tim Anderson of Eden Prairie, Bonnie Moosbrugger of Bemidji, Leslie Honebrink of Benson, Bill and Ardie Brink of Stillwater and many cousins.
